(Birdwatching season: October to early April each year)
One-of-a-kind in Taiwan! Experience Tainan’s breathtaking wildlife and extraordinary coastal landscapes.
★ Black-faced Spoonbills: Every winter, these globally rare migratory birds arrive at the Qigu wetlands to spend the season, creating a spectacular display of nature.
★ Ding Tou E Sandbar: Featuring magnificent sand dunes and a unique desert-like landscape, its dramatic patterns of light and shadow have earned it the nickname “Taiwan’s Sahara Desert.”
★ Guosheng Lighthouse: Standing proudly on the sandbar, this distinctive black-and-white steel tower guides and protects local fishermen at sea. It is also located at the westernmost point of Taiwan’s main island.
